I reckon we should leave reasonably (but not ridiculously) early and aim to be in Cardiff late afternoon. It'd be good, for something like this, if several of us could get insured on one car and take turns driving. It might be too late to organise it this time though.

so assuming its saturday the 1st of august in cardiff:

the mecure hotel in cardiff are doing a summer deal with room and breakfast for 49 a night.

holiday inn and the express are both booked up for the sat night, but strangly they will let you stay two nights. I've found a code for friday and sat night at 75 in total.

the ibis and etap (the less stared brothers of novotel and Mecure) are strangly more than the mecure!

hilton is too expensive. So too...

I neglected to mention the IBS proposal as it was always a non-starter due to the reasons mentioned.

This is what I'm suggesting.

We pick a couple of cities that we want to have a night out in. We travel there, stopping at various places [dictated by the presence of stadia] along the way (we wouldn't be taking any huge diversions). This would actually involve less "looking at the motorway" than travelling directly to our destination and would break up our journey, also allowing us to see places that we might never otherwise have visited.

I have concocted a stupid plan for potential birthday chaos that everyone is invited to attend ( I know Daz will not want to go, not reply until a text on the morning stating 'nah' so please ignore this DW ).

Plan is to have the names of the 20 PL teams in a hat, start off on the Wirral and draw a name from this hat...drive to that ground and draw another name and so on. The aim of this being to see...
