I concur entirely with those sentiments and, after some thoughtful consideration and research, am happy to make the move. I truly hope that it may renew interest for those who had considered their futures, and that it may even tempt Mark back into the fold.

i think i have raised initial verbal objections to the proposed new 2 tier scheme - basically i think that the autonomous historic wffl will be fucked off in favour of the other.

however, the more i think about it the more i think pro-fantasy league is the future for wffl. it will allow wffl to continue and takes out the admin and to a large extent much of the controversy in the recent game. it might renew excitement and interest in those for whom the fames of wffl passion have...

VPL sounds good, potential for smutty jokes etc. Abandoning the WFFL brand might even be a good idea, it would draw a clear line between hand-crafted rules, teams and preconceptions of WFFL (it could even continue separately) and the pro-fantasy league VPL. Anyway, paying some impartial third party to do the points and arbitrate the rules and everything else is exactly my kind of league. Pay - Do IBS - put your feet up while the points roll in. Come on VPL!

Texted most of the key participants, who each have their own doubts etc. Trying to come up with a solution that suits all.

The reason i'm trying to do this is because the ideal situation for me would be to have the original participants of WFFL competing for next year's trophy. Its the people that make it WFFL, not the rules, and so even if the rules and format were slightly different it would still be WFFL....
