Yeah, I originally had those two Bergkamp goals in there, but thought I'd give some other players a chance! The Argie one is still my favourite due to the
occasion, timing and insane Dutch commentator!

Bergkamp is head and shoulders above any player of the last 20 years. Just a shame he played for an average dutch team, and an arsenal team who could not
perform in europe. Watching him makes me remember the beautiful side of the game, takes me back to the times of all encompassing passion for anything football.
Then you click on bbc and see some scouse thug shame your shirt by intentionally breaking a fellow pro's leg. He's as bad as barton, hope he gets a
year long ban, scum. Might watch Bergkamp on a youtube loop to try and get some of the old love back

just looking at those goals again. Good selection. Can't remember if there was another thread similar to the goals one or whether I'm thinking of an
YouTube adventure from another day, but I have a soft spot for Zidane's left foot volley in the world cup and Le Tissier's free kick flick up and shoot
thingy.

Loving the bergkamp adulation on this thread - still the greatest foreign player ever to play in England. How lucky Arsenal fans were - to have him and Thierry
in the same team!
Henry's goal that Matt puts in at number 5 is one of my favourite of all time; together with Bergkamp's vs Newcastle. I remember Roberto Mancini scoring a backheel flick from a corner as a Lazio player which was unbelievable (Matt, could you dig a video of this up?!). John Barnes taking on Brazil single handedly is up there, and - realise it won't be a popular choice - but so has to be El Diego's goal vs. England in 1986. One a completely subjective and biased level, most emotional goals ever for me are: 1) Gerrard vs Olympiakos 2) Gerrard vs West Ham (FA Cup final) 3) Luis Garcia vs Chelsea (CL semi) 4) Luis Garcia vs Juventus 3) Owen's 2nd vs Arsenal FA Cup 01 |

emotional goals:
1. Ned Kelly's Equaliser v Leicester Worthington Cup Final 2. Simon Haworth's chip against Reading - it was beautiful 3. Andy Parkinson's 120th minute winner against the then Champions League semi finalist Leeds team - on my 18th birthday that one as well! 4. Iain Hume v Bolton FA cup 3rd Round Replay at the Reebok to put us 2-1 up in extra time after Sam 'the cunt' allardyce said pre-match we'd blown our chance by drawing 1-1 at home 5. Ned Kelly's against bolton worthington cup semi final to go 3-0 up in the match, 4-0 on aggregate. i was soooo happy. |
